Launching
of National Party, announces CM KCR
Vanam Jwala Narasimha Rao
Launching
the TRS election campaign in Karimnagar Lok Sabha Constituency on Sunday, March
17, 2019 Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao vociferously declared that he
would not hesitate to set up a National Party after the Lok Sabha elections. This
is certainly an announcement that is likely to revolutionize the political scenario
of the country. Chief Minister proclaimed that the country needs to be liberated
from the misrule of both BJP and Congress, and he will fight for this goal till
the last drop of his blood.
During
the course of his 50-minute address to a mammoth rally, Chandrashekhar Rao set
the tone for the Lok Sabha polls banging both BJP and Congress, stating that,
they did precious nothing to harness the potential the country is known for in
various sectors, including water and power management. The Chief Minister gave
a clarion call for a BJP and Congress Mukt Bharat. CM declared, that, it is
time to put an end to the dirty politics that have plagued this country for the
last seven decades.
In
a hard-hitting speech, Chandrashekhar Rao, while mainly focusing on the role
TRS is set to play at the national level, referred to Telangana’s rapid pace of
development that made the State into a role model. He further made a mention
that it was only the Telangana State government that pitched a national
perspective before the Fifteenth Finance Commission instead of crawling before
it just for funds to the State.
The
Chief Minister took serious objection to the terminology used by both Prime
Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi against each other
belittling their stature. He questioned “Are these people Prime Minister
material? How does the world see us when such is the running commentary?”
The
Centre, he said, also failed in tackling issues with Pakistan and other matters
of international importance. He said the two so-called national parties never
cared for the country or its people. “Now, it is the time for somebody to take
up that responsibility to transform the country, and give people what they
deserve with respect to a better life and amenities,” he said. “If no one takes
up this cause, this country will continue to languish in the sludge that
Congress and BJP pushed it into,” CM said. CM called on the people to bless his
endeavour to change the face of the nation and support TRS in the coming
elections.
When Chief
Minister KCR announced that he would form a national party to save the country
if the need arises, the crowd was enthusiastic and chanted “You take lead and
we are with you”. People in
large numbers from all the seven Assembly constituencies that come under
Karimnagar Parliament constituency had converged at the meeting venue and were
on their feet whenever Chandrashekhar Rao made a forceful statement against the
BJP and Congress, and the need to develop the country.
Referring
to the often-repeated question by detractors as to what TRS would be able to
achieve with just 16 MPs in Parliament, Chandrashekhar Rao said he was not idle
for the past one year but instead made plans with other regional parties to put
together a coalition of 150 to 160 MPs. “We will do this and rid this country
of the terrible leadership that plagued it so far. Telangana has to play a big
role in national politics,” he said. CM also said that when he could achieve
Telangana with just 2 MPs why cannot play major role in national politics with
16 MPs?
The
country, he said, is in need of comprehensive administrative and judicial
reforms, which will be possible only under a Federal Front Government. “For
instance, there is just one Supreme Court for such a large country. Is this the
right policy? These are questions that need to be looked into and answered,” he
said.
The
CM also said it was saddening to see India, with an installed capacity to
generate 2,21,000 megawatts of power, recording the highest ever use at just
1,80,000 megawatts. “Half the country is languishing in darkness. Similarly,
India is blessed with 70,000 TMC of water and even if every inch of 40 crore
acres of agricultural land is irrigated, it will still leave us with a surplus
of 30,000 TMC,” he said.
“I
asked Modi why it is taking decades for the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal to decide on
the Krishna river water sharing. It was set up in 2004. It is now 2019, but
still no decisions are made yet on a subject that should not have taken more
than a few months,” he said. He also called for the need to Centre to step back
on subjects that can be handled better by the States.
Chief
Minister in his address said that Telangana, in a short period of four years,
had emerged a role model for the rest of the country owing to its progressive
development policies, sincerity of purpose in executing and completing projects
and not just for launching, but successfully implementing hitherto unthought of
welfare schemes for those who need them the most. He said Telangana, in these
past four years, had emerged as the number one State.
“Despite such
progress, BJP and Congress have been trying to mislead the country. Is there
any State that is ruled by Congress and BJP where farmers get 24-hour power
supply? What have they done after winning? I want Prime Minister Narendra Modi
and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to answer this question,” said KCR.
Chief Minister KCR
slammed BJP in no uncertain terms for exploiting religious sentiments for
political gains. The BJP, the TRS president declared, is not the ‘sole representative’
of Hindutva and Hindus. “It is not the only torchbearer for Hindus and religion
in the country. Don’t we practice our religion? Do we not go to temples, offer
prayers?” he asked.
“Religion is not
used by us for political gains,” he said, adding: “We are better Hindus than
the BJP. BJP is not the true keeper of religion. Referring to his own practice
of religion, Chandrashekhar Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mocked
him for this. “Yes, I do many Yagas. Nobody in the country has done as many Yagas
as I have. Modi says I spend more time on prayers. So, I told him he too is
welcome to attend them and receive his share of Prasadam and Teertha,” he said.
