‘Social service is not just confined to financial assistance, rather, is about understanding the needs of those around us, offering meaningful support, and providing the right direction that can lead to transformative change in their lives’ was the view expressed by TG Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communication, Industry, Commerce and Legislative Affairs Duddilla Sridhar Babu. He was speaking as the Chief Guest at the ‘Atmiya Sammelana’ with Members of CENTER FOR BRAHMIN EXCELLENCE (CBE) and other Brahmin Elders at Telangana Brahmin Sadan on Wednesday the July 30, 2025.

The Minister lauded the work of the CBE, especially its efforts in mentoring youth for civil services and creating educational opportunities. He also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of retired IAS and IPS officers, senior administrators, and experts who are voluntarily working through the CBE for the betterment of society. ‘Our government will extend all possible support to strengthen this institution. We also plan to initiate skill development programs in collaboration with Young India Skill University, through CBE’ the Minister added.

The Minister delivered a heartfelt and inspiring address that drew prolonged applause from the gathering. He emphasized that no progress can occur in isolation and called for collective responsibility in shaping a just and evolved society. ‘What we give to society, in turn, it returns to us manifold, not necessarily as wealth, but as inner fulfillment and goodwill’ he underscored. He urged the Brahmin Community to stay anchored in values, invest in the next generation, and rise above divisions through unity and clarity of purpose.

In an affirmative rebuttal to false narratives being circulated, the Minister firmly stated, that, ‘Some individuals are deliberately spreading false narratives about the ‘Telangana Brahmin Samkshema Parishad. Let me clarify that our government is firmly committed to its development. We have already allocated Rs 25 crore and will continue to provide additional support. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, our government is sincerely working for the welfare of the Brahmin community.’

The Minister also singled out philanthropic gestures from private citizens, such as CBE Narendra Kumar Kamaraju of Praneeth Constructions, for sponsoring six aspirants under the CBE Civil Services Mentoring Initiative. Recalling his own grassroots experiences, Sridhar Babu remarked, ‘Society respects us not because we are financially powerful, but because we stand by dharma and collective welfare. Most of us are salaried individuals, but our moral strength commands dignity.’

He appealed for a unified organization for Brahmins, urging CBE to serve as an umbrella body for the 650 Brahmin institutions in Telangana and to lead with non-political, inclusive intent. The Minister shared his vision to help set up hostels for underprivileged Brahmin Girls and Boys, expressing hope that such efforts would show a path to future generations. ‘My father always told me: in politics, you are an eternal student. I am still learning’ he said with humility.

Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, having been impressed with activities of CENTER FOR BRAHMIN EXCELLENCE (CBE), so far being taken-up, as a kind gesture, in accordance with his assurance, spent quality time of more than an hour and half in the Atmiya sammelana. Earlier, a week ago, CBE President, Vice President, Secretary, and two other members called on the Minister Sridhar Babu on Tuesday the July 22, 2025 at State Secretariat, primarily to introduce the ‘Vision and Objectives’ of CBE and for briefly showcasing the ongoing initiatives.

On July 30, what began as an informal gathering evolved into a vibrant forum of purpose and participation. It turned out to be a formal meeting with Minister Sridhar Babu as Chief Guest. Former Union Minister S Venugopala Chary, AICC CWC Member and former MLC Gidugu Rudraraju participated as Guests of Honor. On arrival at the premises and the meeting hall, the Minister was accorded a rousing reception amidst chanting of divine verses from traditional scriptures, by students of Sampradaya Veda Patashala located in the TBSP premises.

CBE Executive Committee Members Vijay Oddiraju, SV Rao, LV Subrahmanyam, and Jwala Narasimha Rao; Members Surabhi Vani Devi MLC and Puranam Satish former MLC shared the platform and shared their views before the Chief Guest’s address to the participants. CBE Member and ‘Master of Ceremony’ Sesha RSR Prasad conducted the proceedings. Two more members of CBE Narendra Kumar Kamaraju and E Hari Babu, as well as IYR Krishna Rao, also shared their views. The elders around the tables in the hall, representing educators, administrators, technocrats, and philanthropists, were full of appreciation and in agreement, when they heard the Minister.

What preceded the Minister’s stirring address was a session marked not by routine deliberations, but by a quiet, steady assertion of purpose, an affirmation that the Brahmin community is not seeking sympathy, but systems; not fleeting support, but sustainable empowerment. The genesis of CBE, and how it was formed with a deep understanding of the need to preserve, nurture, and contemporize the Brahmin Community, with a commitment by its members, to elevate, empower, and evolve the Brahmins as a whole, was briefed.

Beginning with Rs 5 Lakhs (Contribution of Vijay Oddiraju) CBE Support for Vidyaranya Pathasala for preservation and promotion of Vedic education, proceeding with Civil Services Advocacy as a flagship initiative to focus on building civil service aspirants among Brahmin youth through structured mentoring, coaching, and interview preparation, the initiatives were mentioned.

CBE Team mentioned that, it has begun to fill a vital gap that time and complacency had widened, the steady erosion of Brahmin representation in civil services. Once admired for their ethical stewardship of administration, Brahmin officers have become rarity in today’s corridors of power. Recognizing this decline not as a loss of ability but as a lapse in aspiration and access, the CBE has launched a flagship initiative to mentor, guide, and train young aspirants toward civil services with clarity and confidence, basically reclaiming space in governance with value-driven approach. It is an exercise in rebuilding a culture of public service.

A defining moment of the gathering came when entrepreneur-philanthropist Narender Kumar rose to the occasion, with a gesture and pledged to sponsor the entire educational journey of six deserving civil services aspirants. Equally heartening was the gesture of senior Congress leader and AICC Working Committee Member Gidugu Rudraraju. Impressed by the integrity and energy with which the CBE has been operating, he spontaneously became a member, contributing Rs 50,000 on the spot as a token of faith and encouragement.

The gathering radiated something more enduring: a sense of cultural awakening. There was introspection on how to balance ancient wisdom with contemporary relevance, and how to leverage intellectual capital into public leadership. Ideas were also shared about economic self-reliance, proposals for cooperative financial institutions, hostels for Brahmin students, and support for Vedic learning alongside AI and digital skill development.

The Minister later, accompanied by members of the CBE, made it a point to personally visit the Sampradaya Veda Pathasala located within the premises. In that quiet, sacred space where the echoes of ancient knowledge still resound, Minister Sridhar Babu spent meaningful quality time interacting with the students and faculty, listening to their needs and aspirations. With humility and warmth, he assured them of all necessary budgetary support for strengthening the institution.

As the afternoon advanced, what remained was not just the memory of a successful occasion, but the beginning of a movement, to revive lost aspirations, to bridge tradition with ambition, and to make excellence, not entitlement, the cornerstone of community upliftment. With the CENTER FOR BRAHMIN EXCELLENCE emerging as a credible institution of vision and service, and with individuals and leaders coming together with sincerity, the message was unmistakable: the future is not something to wait for, it is something to prepare together.
